US 'eager' to open embassy in Cuba
The US is pressing Cuba to open its first official embassy in Havana, according to reports.
Negotiations between the two nations have been restored in December last year after decades of confrontation.
The US is "eager" to open the embassy by April, when Barack Obama is due to meet Cuban leader Raul Castro, Reuters reported.
However, Cuba demands to be removed from the US terrorist list before an agreement is met, but US officials told the publication the process could take until June or even longer to be concluded.
Cuba has been in the US State Sponsors of Terrorism list since 1982, which included Iran, Sudan and Syria.
