Vue International 'considering bid' for rival Odeon
Cinema chain Vue International is believed to be mulling a potential offer for rival operator Odeon.
According to sources cited by the Sunday Times, a bid is likely to be around the £600m mark, falling short of the £1bn price tag Odeon owner, Guy Hands, has previously said he would like it to sell for.
Sources close to Vue told the newspaper that it would consider making an offer when the chain is put up for sale in the next few months. Chief executive Timothy Richards has previously stated that he was "very interested" in putting in an offer.
However, Vue stated that it is "not considering it today".
Canadian investors Omers Private Equity and Alberta Investment Management acquired Vue in mid-2013 in a £935m deal.
