Technical FAQ's

Q. I cannot log-in. What do I do?

A. Firstly, try to login again, taking care to use lowercase letters and leaving no spaces before or after the account details.

Also remember that to access some of our source sites you need to register separately with them e.g. Telegraph. This should take a few minutes and is normally free of charge. Our password and username is for our website only. Please take care to put the correct account details in the correct boxes.

If, after re-attempting to log in, you are still experiencing difficulties, please try the following technical tips:

Clear your cookies and internet files. In Internet Explorer go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Delete Cookies / Delete Files. Then, close and restart IE.

You should also be advised to ALLOW cookies. If in 'Tools -> Internet Options -> Security' – if the security setting is High or above, this should be reduced to Medium or Low. If you are running any Norton or other security application this may also be causing problems. If possible, you should disable these features when using the site.

Also, try disabling your Google Toolbar if installed (it isn't always easy to uninstall this one) and do not use a proxy. Tools -> Internet Options ->LAN Settings -> Proxy

Q. I have forgotten my password. What do I do?

A. Please use our password reminder service.

Please note that for security reasons, we are only able to send your account details to the email account that we have on record. If your email address is not recognised it could be that you are using a different address to the one you originally used to log-in with us. Please check and try again.

Q. I haven’t been receiving any email alerts recently. What should I do?

A. Firstly check if you are subscribed to receive the alerts. Log-in using your username and password and click the ‘E-mail Subscription and Alerts’ link. In ‘E-mail Alerts’ section check if the box of the alert you wish to receive is ticked and also if you have chosen the right Alert style and frequency. Click the ‘Save’ button to confirm.

If you are subscribed and you still aren’t receiving alerts it can be that they are getting caught by a spam filter on your email service. Add mailer1@digitallook.com to your allow list to prevent this from occurring.
