TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES

The Board of F&C UK High Income Trust plc announces that on 1 September 2017 the Company purchased 500,000 Ordinary shares at a price of 103.50p per Ordinary share to be held in treasury.

Following this transaction the Company's issued share capital consists of 102,067,144 Ordinary shares and 32,076,703 B shares, of which 15,139,000 Ordinary shares and 1,100,000 B shares are held in treasury.  Therefore the total number of shares with voting rights in F&C UK High Income Trust plc is 86,928,144 Ordinary shares and 30,976,703 B shares.

The above figures (86,928,144 Ordinary shares and 30,976,703 B shares) may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, F&C UK High Income Trust plc under the FCA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
