Aura Energy Limited (ASX:AEE/AIM:AURA) is pleased to advise shareholders that it has closed a private placement to sophisticated investors in Australia and the United Kingdom and raised £651,360 (A$1,102,300) before costs. 

Under the terms of the placement sophisticated investors will receive one fully paid ordinary share at 2 Australian cents (1.18 pence) and one option over ordinary share for every three shares subscribed. The options over ordinary shares are unlisted, exercisable at 2 cents per option and expire 12 months from the date of issue.

The Company will issue 55,115,250 fully paid ordinary shares at 2 Australian cents (1.18 pence) per share and grant 18,371,750 options over ordinary shares.

Application will be made to admit the shares issued from the private placement to trading on AIM.  Admission is expected to become effective on or around 17 November 2017 and the shares will rank pari passu in all respects with the Company's existing shares in issue.

The share capital of the Company following Admission will be 848,851,140 fully paid ordinary shares with voting rights attached (one vote per ordinary share). There are no shares held by the Company in treasury.  The number of shares on issue may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine whether they are required to notify their interests in, or a change to their interest in, the Company.
