London close: Stocks slide on US regional bank fears but Trump comments temper selloff

(Sharecast News) - London stocks ended firmly in the red on Friday, with financials under the cosh amid concerns about US regional banks, but the top-flight index was off earlier lows after US President Trump struck a more conciliatory tone towards China.
The FTSE 100 closed down 0.9% at 9,354.57.
