ArcelorMittal smashes profit forecasts in first quarter

(Sharecast News) - Luxembourg-based steel titan ArcelorMittal beat forecasts with its first-quarter profits on Thursday as it painted a positive outlook for global steel demand.
While economic sentiment remains "subdued", the company said it still expects apparent steel demand excluding China to grow by between 3% and 4% this year.
